At Home with Otis

Welcome to our journal… At Home with Otis. We’re glad you landed here!

Some of you may know us and others not, but we’re a husband and wife design-build duo. What started as just the two of us out of a shared love of designing, building and renovating, has grown into a dream business with a dream team we feel lucky to have by our side. It took a lot of guts, drive and sleepless nights to build, but here we are and here we stand (this is us).

Over the last four years, we’ve navigated so much - startup mode, getting the word out, landing our first clients (thank you to all the friends and family who supported our early days and still do!), learning to wear all the hats until we didn’t have to, grew a team, navigated (and survived) a global pandemic and continue to steer through the ebbs and flows of running and growing a business.

The last year alone marked some really big milestones for us and to celebrate in a small way, we officially launched our website! It was a labour of love in itself and we owe it all to Danielle from Function Creative Co. We are beyond words with how it came together (a real pinch me moment!). We got to put ourselves into a very different creative process building a website and learned so much from that experience that we’ve weaved through our own workflow. Also a great reminder of what our own clients and homeowners go through when working with us in taking a concept and turning it into something tangible, personal and impactful.

Having said that, we’d like to introduce you to our blog and journal, At Home with Otis, which we hope you’ll follow along with and get to know us better. Some of you may know that I (Jasmine) started my journey into design through blogging and so bringing At Home with Otis to life strikes a special chord. Let it be a space where you can come for a short escape, get inspired, spark ideas for your own home, learn and grow with us as we share our penchant for design and building and home renovations, share our favourite things for the home and document projects and share them with you all.
